From London to Mohali: UK volunteers at Bright Sparks School, 2020

“You just don’t know how privileged you have been…” says Kate Foster, after volunteering at Bright Sparks School in November 2019.

Kate and co-volunteer, Jack Butcher, graduated from Sussex University and opted to visit Bright Sparks in Mohali, as part of their travel plans.

Once there, they helped the kids with reading, maths and English. They took class 5 on a ‘cultural’ outing to a coffee shop.  And their repertoire of games and rhymes proved very popular, especially “What’s the time Mr Wolf?”!

Later, Kate expressed her thoughts about the whole experience in a reflective piece, “Privilege“.
